It will be a financial drain on the Counties.

The counties will be responsible for routine administrative tasks including:

1) Provide meeting room for Governing Board and People’s Grand Jury sessions. Insignificant Additional Cost

2) Assign an address, accept mail delivery, and then hold mail for the Governing Board. Insignificant Additional Cost

3) Maintain a record of all mail received and addressed to the People’s Grand Jury by Date received and name and address of sender. Insignificant Additional Cost

4) Serve and enforce subpoenas requested by the Governing Board. Insignificant Additional Cost

5) Post public notice of the Annul Public Governing Board Meeting. Insignificant Additional Cost

6) Provide the means and administrative staff for selecting, and notifying potential members of the People’s Grand Jury as designated within this initiative. Insignificant Additional Cost

7) Pay reasonable costs associated with the performance these responsibilities. (Primarily mail delivery)

8) Physically maintain and safeguard all filings and evidence. Insignificant Additional Cost

The county already has the infrastructure in place to accommodate the existing court system. It will be responsible for routine administrative costs, but no for prosecuting cases — the plaintiff and defendant will be responsible for covering their own costs. The cost to the counties will not be significant.
